it's just a name toshiba gave to one of its laptops

This guy is WRONG. A Satellite computer is a Toshiba Brand Laptop, Satellite Series. This would be the entry-level computer from the Toshiba Corporation. I love these machines, I have two and they are what I consider among the best you could buy. Even my 'old' 650MHz machine is still working after 8 years of use without failures.

A laptop that has a sattelite uplink ability to access Internet, etc., much like a sattelite phone works.
