I very much agree with what 'D and G' said, but I would like to add this. It will help you to look at what's going on in your day and/or life in general during the times that you find yourself doing, or being where you don't want to. Map your train of thought coupled by outside 'forces' that lead you back to the addiction.
Seeing how you get there will give you that much more of an edge to break the addiction. It's a hard road, but the road is not impossible. Remember to reward yourself no matter how small the victory. Don't chastise yourself when you stumble. Keep your eye on the prize!!
You should be proud of yourself already. It takes a person of strength and character to not only realize something needs to change, but to strive to make that change!!

The first thing that you do is you have to admit the addiction. Once you admit that you have a problem you are then able to take the steps in order to overcome it. Sit down and be honest with yourself. Write down why you want to overcome the addiction and the steps that you need to take in order to beat it. Take one step at a time and master it before moving on to the next step. If you stumble and you go back to the addiction pick yourself up and start again. To err is human remember that. You are not going to overcome it the first time around without a few stumbles and falls. As long as you pick yourself up and start again you are doing good. If you keep having the same stumbles and falls you then need to sit down and again write why you are stumbling in this area. What can you do to get through this part of recovery. Work those steps and then go back to your original plan. Always remember one other thing . You didn't get this way overnight don't expect to be cured over night either.

I know what it's like to be addicted, and depressed from failing over and over again. I try to give myself a little slack, after all, I'm only human. Just try to get a little better everyday. I don't think I understand fetishes at all. I'm just way to "white bread" about sex. But if it's a behavior that you want to eliminate, then you have to reward yourself somehow when you restrain from that behavior. I believe positive reinforcement is better than the negative type.

If it's something you truly think is wrong and it's disturbing your life you just have to stop. Keep yourself busy. It would help to know what the addiction is though. There's no easy way to beat an addiction you just have to keep reminding yourself it's not good for you and stay strong. But like I said would help to know what the addiction is.

Go to Acolholic Anonomous, Narcoticis Anonomous, or a sexually addiction group!!! It takes a higher faith to overcome a true addiction as WELL as the support you get from the group!!! Good Luck!
