if you don't mention something, and it doesnt hurt anyone, is it considered lying and a sin?

yes. that's called lying by omission, and yes, it's considered a sin in the bible.

yes it is lying. It's called lying by omission. My husband gets yelled at for it all the time.. It will get you in the same trouble as lying.

no its lying when someone ask you about it and you dont tell the truth about wha really happended. If someone tells you they think you havn't done it and you dont set the record straight that you did do it then thats lying because its like you are agreeing with them that you didnt do it.

If you do so with the intention of misleading, yes.

The only time that's okay is when you're on the witness stand...you answer the EXACT question put to you, no more no less.

could be just a mere oversight or a momentary lapse of conscienceness/ rememberance. Depending on your age (over40) it could be CRS (Cant Remember Sh.t) Let it die and dont worry about it.

Depends on what it is your keeping to yourself. Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut. If its bothering you then I think maybe its something you should tell whoever it is your keeping it from. Good Luck!!
