We read that the two serial child neglectors say that they dont know why they were made MAIN SUSPECTS in the case of their missing daughter, and say the Portuguese wont tell them till they have finished their investigation. Since they have not been charged yet, that sounds about right.

Should Kate and Gerry McCann bare Police evidence for all to see BEFORE they have been charged ?

Whatever is the outcome of this sad case, there is one thing that will not change. They left their young children alone, which is something a loving , responsible person wouldn`t do.

I can't imagine the McCanns will be eliminated as suspects until the police are satisfied they are not involved. And I can't see that happening until they answer the police questions satisfactorily.

Their spokesman states " "Kate and Gerry feel it is a huge distraction and while police are looking at them they are not searching for Madeleine. The suggestion they were involved remains very upsetting to them."

In any murder or missing person enquiry, the first persons to be suspected, investigated and eliminated are the immediate family, followed by close friends, neighbours and people who were in the vicinity, it is a circle which starts with those closest to the victim and gradually spreads wider. Once alibis and statements check out, then the police will eliminate you and move on to other suspects.

It is not enough for the McCanns to indignantly state they are not involved, by refusing to help the police they are the ones who are responsible for their own status of suspects. And sadly, the fact is, that in the vast majority of cases of missing or murdered children, it is someone very close to the child who is to blame, very often a parent.

The McCanns themselves are the ones who are holding up the enquiry. Help the police to do their job, answer their questions, prove they are justified in eliminating the McCanns and the police will then be able to get on and look at other lines of enquiry. If not, then the police will be justified in continuing the McCanns' status as main suspects for the next 7 years or however long it takes.

The McCanns hold the solution to their 'suspect status' in their own hands.

kinda a coincidence that just after using the fund to pay their mortgage comes to light, Gerald is ready to start working again.... I know I'm a little cynical at times, but come on whats next? well depending on what evidence they can find I guess will determine his fate. Hopefully all truths will come to light. I still think there is something weird in this case

Who are they trying to kid?

I bet they would just love to see the evidence on them, so they can try and kill the case all together! If they are so 'desperate' to have their arguido status lifted, why don't they go back, answer the questions and then maybe the Police can do what they have been trying to do from day one!

They are beyond contempt........

Mitchell is desperate to prove his worth with these little gems. They all know full well that they won't see the evidence until they are brought back to Portugal for trial. So, in the meantime, their five lawyers will just have to wait.

well theyre wrong to go on preaching how they arent the main suspects. yeah, they might not have done it, but given the circumstances, they should know why theyre seen as that.

what annoys me most is how people STILL talk about this. hundreds of children go missing every year, thats not even touched upon! the mccanns go on about their woe this christmas without their daughter; well think about all those in the same position! i dont see why they should have got so much publicity given no other case like this has been that publicized in the past.

They know full well why they were made main suspects and so do 75% of the population. The PJ will tell them when they are good and ready because the McCanns may THINK they are in charge of this charade but the PJ have other ideas.

Even if the McCanns had no involvement in the disappearance of their daughter, they are definitely guilty of child neglect.

Well , it would be handy for both them and their lawyers to know what they're up against, to actually see what evidence there is and have advance notice ahead of a potential trial , presumably very helpful when it comes to assembling the defense, though i really do not think they would wish such evidence that exists to enter into the public domain.....who would ?........in the Macs shoes , that is .
