Honestly, I think I'd go either with "Mario Party 8" or "Super Mario Galaxy".

Well, any of the Mario games would be good for a girl.
I personally like Shrek the Third, which is fun. It's like an old school classic game.
Also, try DDR, Boogie or any of the singing or dancing games.
Raymans Raving Rabbids 1 and 2 are good.
I also think they would like the Petz games.

Mario Galaxy... Its the highest rated game on www.metacritic.com for the wii. Its basic and fun and will take a while to complete.

I dont know much about wii games, but one game I really wanna try out, if I had a wii, which I dont, so it would be for a DS lite, is Mamma Cook :D
