me too!

as a high school student you'll probably take AP/IB/CLEP tests...i think these are good to get out of some of the general education requirements that the college of your choice might require--of course this depends on whether you go to a 4 year undergrad or a 6 year med program where you take your premed requirements and seguey into med school after 2 years

i'm doing the former; either way in high school get the grades you want (As), do outstanding community service, maybe even do an exchange program (i didn't do some of these, but these things are good hahaa! AND they will help you into the college of your choice)

in college major in whatever interests you but take these classes:
2 semesters english
2 semesters biology with labs
2 semesters general chemistry with labs
2 semesters organic chemistry with labs
2 semesters physics with labs
this is basic
a lot of med schools want 1-2 semesters of math at the calculus level MAYBE statistics and even 1 semester or so of some humanities (my second major French takes care of that and i'm majoring in physiology) o and take on some research it's cool

around your junior year you'll take the mcat

after all of this you'll have a high GPA somewhere aroung 3.7-4.0 and a fantastic score from the mcat 28-...dare i?...45 and you'll apply to med school

when you get into med school you'll do four years: two years in class, two years in rounds all this while you'll be earning a high ranking and awards and doing some form of fantastic community service

after this you'll wow some hospital internship>>>residency program (first year as intern, second year and years following as resident) with the collected awesomeness you earned in med school and you'll go through a program based on your specialty...this can take anywhere from 4-8 years...maybe more but all this while you'll learn how to do the surgeries

the way i see it cuz people always comment on the amount of time it takes to become a doctor: it's fours years undergrad four years med school much like PhD stuff and then you pretty much start working...ya you'll take tests and study but thats cool too

apply to medical schools. You will have to take a pre-entrance exam to prove you have the ability to become a doctor. You will have to go to school for 7 years and also do an internship at hospitals. You will probably need additional training to become a surgeon. Good luck to you. Hope it all works out for you.
