I'm for 'em! If you see a tiger on the loose, make sure you aren't the slowest person around.

Do they still have those wax figures of the animals? Those were pretty cool.

I just got finished discussing this with my wife.

I told her I remember visiting the Bronx Zoo when I was young. They had a gorilla, and people were making faces at it and noises, when suddenly it relieved itself, and picked it up and began to throw it at the crowd, who immediately ran in all directions.

Now I find out that the San Fransico Zoo had only a twelve foot wall.

I am putting two and two together. That big cat didn't want any humans around.

It was dark, and only a few people around. Then it had decided it had enough, and leaped itself clear of the fence and began getting even.

Now, I feel sympathy for those who were hurt, and the kid that died.

I wouldn't rush to see exhibits at any zoo, and haven't been to one in a long time.

What all zoos need to do is evaluate their animal ranges and decide what types of animals would be more conducive to pleasing the public, and what animals need very tight security, with all the bells and whistles that go with it.

In other words, the entire zoo structure needs to be revamped.

So many people at work today agreed that the animal could not have jumped out.

How wrong they were.

I have mixed feelings. But where else can you show exotic animals to little kids? This attack won't change anything for me. S**t happens. Maybe something crazy will happen to me someday but its unlikely to be a tiger attack at a zoo (especially after this event).

They will be the last resort of the endangered species of the world.

I heard that the tiger cage wall was 12.5 feet too short for regulations. A world-wide review of safety in these kinds of circumstances needs to be done.

Remember: this is the FIRST time any "A.Z.A." facility has ever had a fatality, and it may have been due to the stupidity of a few careless fools - you don't mess around with a tiger because... because it is a TIGER!!!

No this won't stop me from going to a zoo.

I have respect for wild animals and I'm not planning on taunting any tigers. I feel bad the the victim ~ the tiger...

Seeing in I have a fear of most animals I have never been a fan of zoos, safaris, etc. etc. This however gives validity to my position that the one time I went to the zoo was plenty and I will never ever safari.

I don't particularly like zoo's. Wild Animals are not meant to be penned up in a cage. They are meant to roam free in the lands in which they came from. That animal was only acting on instinct.

No, you always should be aware, that when you enter an area with wild animals, no matter if there are bars (at zoos) or trees (in a forest), you enter at your own risk.

Zoos are pretty cool in my opinion. I like seeing animals that are from half the world away, and polar bears and grizzlies are fricken sweet.
