Ok my parents spoil me and so now they are saying that they want to get me a pet. I want a chinchilla more than a ham. but my parents say hat they are too expensive. Should i force them to get me a chinchilla (I can do this!) or should I go with the flow and let them get me a ham.???

you have to think of the comittment you will make to these animals first
Chins can live for 20years! where will it be when you are off in uni or college? your parents won't wnat to be stuck with it i guess!
A hamster might be a wiser choice...:)
Gud luck!!!

I think a hamster is better because he is easier, and the chinchilla is SUPER difficult! Are you willing to give your chinchilla a DUST BATH every week? If so then do alot of reseach and talk to your parents. I personally think you will get tired of the chinchilla very fast and so it's better to get a hamster because they are easy to care for a live only 2 years. When it dies you can think of a more difficult pet like a ferret or the chinchilla!
Good Luck! Hope you get the pet you most want, and that will make you and the animal happy!
If you're willing we can talk about this in more details!

Hamster is better.

A chinchilla isn't only expensive, there are special care instructions you need to do. They NEED that volcanic dust bath to keep their coat in proper shape. They're considered exotics so you may have trouble finding a vet who knows how to treat them. They'll need the vet if they have to have their teeth filed.

Start with a hamster. Read up on chinchillas, join some chinchilla boards and get a lot of research under your belt on them before deciding to own one. They need time outside their cages to be properly exercised, but jump better than rabbits and often have to have a net used to recapture them once it's time to put them back in the cage. My cousin owned two, she restricted their outside time to the bathroom and still had trouble recatching them, they didn't want to go back to confinement.

chinchillas are rally soft, and you don't have to clean them. all you have to do is let it roll into some chinchilla powder shampoo. other things are the same, such as feeding material and how they behave. i suggest the chinchilla, but if you push it, they might get tired of it and stop spoiling you. if my mom were like that, she'd make me stick with the hamster. but, i really suggest the chinchilla.

I think this is more up to you. Hampster and Chinchillas require different kind of care and are different in how they are maintained.

Chinchillas are a bit more hands on. They require special needs (IE Dust Baths). Hampsters however are less hands on are require a lot of exercise and cleaning/bedding.

Best bet would be to research on the internet and ask yourself what you are willing to do.

Keeping a chin is different than keeping a hamster. I suggest you do research before chosing. I personally like chinchillas better. Good luck!

i personally like chinchillas but they are a lot more work! They need dust baths....and....a lot more care so i think you should think about how responsable you are before getting a chinchilla they may be cute but they are much more work! do some research

Neither.

Chins take a lot of expert care. Hamsters are nocturnal and tend to bite.

Get gerbils! They are very sweet and easy to care for. You need to get TWO (or more) though. Be sure to get two of the same gender!

Whatever you get, make SURE you know how to properly care for it and have a big enough cage.
