Everything was feeling great, up until four weeks ago. I am starting to have a lot of pain on the back side of my knee. This only happens when I kneel down. It feels like ,my leg is falling a sleep. The pain is very quick and am unable to stay in this position for more than a few minutes. When I stand up every thing goes back to normal.

I don't know which is worse. I tore a ligament 4 years ago. I refused the surgery. It healed but with a tear.( It did not close )up now I wonder if I did the right thing. It only hurt once in awhile. Good luck to you with yours. There is an exercise that works wonderful . Still during cold weather it talks to me.

I know you will wonder why I am telling you about my shoulder but you will understand. Unfortunately I tore 2 places in my rotator cuff in my shoulder. It's been 1 1/2 year, had surgery 6 months after the injury and it did not work partly due to length of time between injury and surgery. The delay did cause deterioration of the area. Some of my muscles show effects of this plus I do not have full use of my arm. Time is very important for repairing this injury. Using the knee like this can cause further damage. It can cause a loss of function like my shoulder. If you haven't seen an orthopedic surgeon it is time. You need to have surgery and get it fixed. In most cases you are back at full function within 3-6 months. Look at all those football players who end up out for the season due to knee injuries.

Knee surgery to repair torn ligaments in 2000. Usually it's ok -- i.e. it doesn't hurt -- but it's a bit stiff and in cold, wet weather, I'm a walking barometer. On the other hand, I am walking so I won't complain too much.

If you're concerned, call the doctor. And stop kneeling in the meantime.
