Words can be powerful. Wars can start over lapses in diplomacy. Egos can be bruised (even resulting in psychological trauma, in extreme cases) over mean words. Some use compliments in normal conversation. It is said that an Irishman flatters people with blarney, but it is not really baloney (a stretch of the truth, but not an outright lie). Alcohol impairs the senses. When someone is drunk they also lose inhibitions, and often say things that they would like to say, but are too shy to do so ordinarily. So, it is entirely possible that a drunk person can be far more sincere than a person who has normal inhibitions.

Yes, every single time.

I find something in everyone to compliment. Even the smallest thing.....like the colour they have on suits them.

To lie about those things just invites people to do it back to you. When you feel and see beauty and good things in the world, there IS beauty and good things in the world.

sometimes both. When im nervous or intimidated by someone i compliment their outfit or earings even if i dont mean it..but when i think a woman or man is really attractive, i do also tell them, and i mean it.
