Yes, they are legal here and in my county as well. I wish they would stop selling them and using them , especially around our cars and homes, too many fires, too much damage and some very serious injuries were caused by these.. They are already shooting them off in preparation of New Years. My dogs freak from the noise.

Oh that would be lovely! We'll have to put up with them next week when they'll be whizzing and booming for New Year! We're in the UK btw. We have laws surrounding when, where and how fireworks can be let off but the police don't do anything even if reports are made about young kids messing about in the park with fireworks.
We would like to see them banned except for Nov. 5th which is Bonfire Night and only for organised displays. We are shocked at how much these "bombs" cost!
Was there a public outcry for them to be illegal in Australia coz if it worked for your country hopefully it will work here....someday.
We remember when fireworks were not let off at New Year but since the Millenium it's a regular every year event now.

lmao sorry that's so funny though; i had funny thoughts of the 'sitcom stereotype' australian image; messing about with fireworks and i felt like writing; i wonder why they banned them in australia in a sarcastic way but i dont believe in stereotypes and my aunt and uncle live there and its just not like that anyway so i'll put my proper answer; i always thought in UK you could only buy fireworks at certain times of the year but i heard on the radio an advert for a shop that sells them all year so i think its just the shops that have to have a special license to sell them all year, we can use fireworks before 11PM after that it's illegal, you never normally hear fireworks at any other time apart from fireworks night and maybe new years so there must be some restriction. you have to be over 18 and fireworks are locked away and only viewed through glass cases or in magazines and you then pick the ones you want and someone unlocks them and gets the one you want out.
ther was some talk of banning bonfires at fireworks night but i think you just have to have a lot of legislation and go through lots of regulations to be able to have one e.g. distance from crowds, how it's lit, fire crew nearby etc etc.

Depends on the State. Strange as it seems, here in the Peoples Republic of Ohio I can purchase fireworks if I sign a waiver stating that I will take them to another state. Or I can drive to Michigan and buy them. It is illegal to use fireworks in Ohio. Kind of like cigarettes, I can buy them but I can't burn them.

In my state, Missouri, you can buy them all year but you can only set them off in the city limits of my county for 3-5 days before July 4, depending on the city or town ordinances, and only on New Year's Eve. If you live outside the city, of course, there seems to be no limits. Sometimes they set them off at weddings in the country. (one of our cousins married a police officer, and the police department "destroyed" confiscated fireworks at their wedding!) Funny!

Here in Oklahoma, they are legal. The bottle rockets are the only ones that I know of here that are illegal. Every year my parents "rent" out their front yard to some folks so they can put up their fire works stand. It is here for about a month, no they don't sell them that long. They have a certain about of time that they can sell them in.

Depends on what State, County and City you live in. Where I live they are legal for 5 days before and 5 days after, July 4th, July 24th, New Years and Chinese New Years. You can even buy them at the grocery store.

In Ontario Canada, we can only buy them on national holidays
from the Queens birthday (May 24) to Canada Day (July 1).
We can only set them off on the actual holidays themselves.
