I recently dropped some weight on my toe (about 60 pounds). My toenail was bruised as a result. I have been able to get out some of the dried blood which causes the nail to look blue about halfway down the nail. How should I clean the bottom of the nail without any surgery? Any ideas? Will the blueish color go away in a few months? Do I need to just wait? THANK YOU!

I would have it looked at, but most likely you just have to wait for the nail to grow out. If it doesn't hurt, just mention it to the doctor at some point. It if does hurt, they have a very simple procedure that puts a small hole in the nail and lets the blood causing the pressure escape.

you need to just wait, I did that to my pointer finger, it was pretty badly bruised for some time because I ripped the top half of it away from my finger, these things heal themselves typically and do better if kept clean and left alone. However be sure you do not use anything unsterile to clean it out and if you feel any incredible pain or are concerned an infection may be setting in, you need to go to the hospital right away because an infection can only lead to something bad. Good luck, and be patient!!
