Relax and think that if 6 billion people all behaved that way this world would be in a real mess. The news just happens to report on the few crazies in the world that are that way. For the most part most people do live in peace and harmony in the world.
The answer to man's problems is not inside man. But outside of him That is the essential role of faith.

Campaign against belief in Human Supremacy. Make Greed Religion Seprate from State. One way to get peace by refuting Greed in debate after. Next educate people make them understand that their own existance can be denied that they are not unique that comments about grassy knolls and Black Helicopters could be made in reference to Humanity as a Myth if Humanity does not get it together. Yes World Peace can be achieved or at least this would be a start on it and might possibly achieve it.

Yes in other ages. Acording to he Ancient Vedas, namely the Srimad Bhagavatam translated By Bhaktivedanta Prabhudpa The time of Yudister Maharaja 5,000 years ago, the whole world was like heaven on earth. It is supposed to be a golden age within this iron age of Kali but, after that again degredation. Best to get out of this place. One has to first realize that we are not this material body, IE; Race, color, nationality, Religion, mind, intellect, senses, job, etc. We are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We never die, only this mortal body dies. This material world is not our real home, it is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery, only one fourth of the souls come here, and the rest are enjoying blissful eternal loving relationships with our Maker named above. We fell here due to envying Gods position. He made the material world for those who want to try to live separately from Him (Which is impossible because He is actually everywhere). After many lifetimes of trying to be happy in this temporary world one becomes frustrated and board and begins to question their existence. We then seek out real happiness, and when one becomes sincere God reveals how to come back Home. Those who are intelligent, take up the process of self realization (Bhakti Yoga) which begins with the chanting of the Maha Mantra (the great mantra for deliverance from all suffering and illusion), which gives one real peace, happiness and reality. Then at the end of life they can give up all material attachments and fully surrender to God and return to the eternal Kingdom, where there is no more birth, death, old age, or disease and be eternally happy. For info. Go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita- As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada asitis.com can be read on line.

If we believe that peace will never come then it won't. If we can't find a way to trust each other then we are defeated before we begin.
One thing to consider is that some of the most peaceful countries today were once very violent so there is hope for change. Perhaps its because of our rough history that we can find the motivation and courage to change our ways.

Peace comes from within not from without. If peace is ever to be achieved through-out the world, hearts must change. In the simplest of ways, the people of planet earth must learn to understand and obey two great principles. The first being Love for God, and the second like unto it, Love thy neighbor as Thyself. People often assume to Love God, then Hate their neighbor, or Love their neighbor, but Hate God, or the less obvious Love of others and God, but Hatred of self. But how can we love God whom we often don't see, and hate our neighbors whom we do see? That's why the way to manifest our Love for God is through Loving and Serving our fellow man. A little good ole fashion forgiveness towards others and ourselves could change the world for good, and in seconds. But it starts with each person on an individual basis, then spreads to the family, then the neighborhood, then city, then state, then country, then continents, then seas and earth and universe! The ripple effect is real.

I heard an important comment on news radio the other day; war breaks out, but can peace ever break out? Then I wondered why peace never breaks out (spreads), I suppose it does in small ways sometimes when families and friends get together. Politically we simply need to decrease the chance for future wars.
Things are getting worse all the time.

I think it is an achievable goal. I believe we are capable of it. Do I think we will manage it? That is an entirely different story. We embrace the divisive and until we recognize that and work to change it, then the goal will stay elusive.

no, never, so very sad that we will never achieve nirvana as a species. It will be a huge bang that will probably take everything else out with us.

as long as man has inner turmoil he will not find peace.
Man is a war maker and this comes from his inner make up and the impact he has on his surroundings.
