My barbie doll was the second style ever made. I never played with the darn thing anyway. If I'd kept in in the box, it would be worth something. Also some of my comic books. I had a lot of antique furniture which I lost to picking the wrong mate. I still have my grandmother's vanity, because my daughter said she wanted it. When I had to run, I took the pets & family pictures. I figured anything else could be replaced.

I wish I still had my old Red Ryder lunch box. It would be worth quite a bit of money today. And there were a few other lunch boxes, also, seemds like I had a new one every year. I know there was the Lone Ranger also.
I had a lot of early Superman and Batman comic books, also. And Green Lantern, and some of the other Marvel comic superheros.
I used to spend my dimes on them every Saturday when we went to town. Archie comics, too. My favorite thing was to sit in my window seat and read comic books all day long when it was rainy or snowy outside. I would still love to do that!

Oh, Lordy, YES!
Toys that now sell on ebay for gazillions! Like original Tinker Toys; a wooden hinged hand painted Pinocchio made in Italy by POW's -
a walking doll; my Donald Duck bike...
All my early comic books...I'd be living in the Taj Mahal for what those books sell for today IF you can even find them!
LIFE and LOOK magazines.
The 1st edition of the Washington Post off the presses after JFK's assassination [I worked there then and had it for years and lost it in a move]
A 45 record player and Vaughn Monroe's Racing With the Moon.
A signed autograph and pic from Lena Horne from 1958 where she was appearing in Paris.
An autograph from the trumpet player, Sidney Bechet that I got on the beach in Nice, France.
You're making me cry with the things I've lost!

I own an Edison phonograph that plays the wax cylinder records. I always took it to school when we studied, "The Portable Phonograph" by Walter VanTilburg Clark to demonstrate to students the evolution of recorded sound. They were most intrigued by how the "horn" amplifies sound without any tubes, transistors or speakers.

Still do have a lot of it of stuff like that around here. As time goes on and when we find a person that is interested in the stuff we will sell it. Two things that we have right now are a cash register and a safe. Both are very old and heavy.

I also had the Lionel trains; The snowblower and the neat circus car with the giraffe that bobbed his head under some kind of sign thing. I can't remember what happened to my trains. I think my mom gave them away.
Oh, and you used to put a little pellet of something (looked like an NTG pill) in the top of the engine and smoke would come out. Woo woo!

What was the worst thing you ever did as a Dog Owner? I spit up and pooped in my diaper, I suppose. When I was born I already had a dog. And from what I've observed of the aging process I'll most likely be doing the exact same thing when I have my last dog.
