so me and my boyfriend live together with his sister and brother and law...the have a cat a dog(pug) and a turtle...none of these are my pets...i want a dwarf rabbit i had one as a kid and it was small quiet and easy to take care of...my boyfriend seems to think other wise...since this isnt my house it his i dont want to just bring one home...how might i convince him that they are not stinking diffcult anmials to take care of?

im not asking permission to have it but since i dont own this house and he does i feel he should be okay with having another animal in the house befor i bring one home

borrow one from a friend for a day and show him you can take care for it and he will see how nice they are

You just might have to wait... Rabbits need LOTS of room. And...you need TWO rabbits.

Yes, yes, I know you had one as a kid. I know that people have been keeping single rabbits as pets for eons. But that doesn't make it RIGHT. Rabbits, like most other animals, NEED the company of other rabbits to be truly happy. Look how they live in the wild -- in huge communes!

If you can't give it enough room or the proper care, you shouldn't have a rabbit. Someday perhaps you'll be able to have a couple of rabbits and provide the best habitat for them, but until then...please wait.

Perhaps you could get some gerbils? They make excellent pets! You need at least 2 -- get them TOGETHER when they are young (don't ever try to introduce adult gerbils), get all boys or all girls and give them a big enough cage -- and have fun!

Well, seriously, you shouldn't have to ask his permission. This is a bit of a control issue. You should be able to do what you want, if you keep the animal caged and assume responsibility for it, what's it to them?
