basically your question points out the fundamental problem with affirmative action and quotas. Obviously roster slots should be earned by merit.

But that's probably your point, isn't it?

By the way, i wouldn't call some of the offensive linemen fast, and I'd love to know Ted Washington's time in the 40 yd dash.

Are you serious? Affirmative action is the reason, the best man doesn't get the job, that is just plain wrong in a free market society. The best players are taken by coaches and GMs, that is the way it should be. The coaches and GMs are trying to put the best team on the field, because they want to win football games. The day a woman is better than all the tall fast men, is the day she will be playing football. Until we start genetically engineering people that will never happen. I would love the coaches from Texas, USC and the Cowboys to start playing women, because then the Irish and the Giants could finally kick the **** out of them. If this question isn't a joke you are an idiot.

Well.....since the vast majority of NFL players are drafted from college (men's football programs)....there's not much you can do about it.

Not all in the NFL are tall and fast....look at Big Fat Warren Sapp, or Sam Adams.....neither is fast.....there are plenty of short dudes too.

Besides, women's football programs just don't have the interest.....

This makes me wonder though........why doesn't the LPGA show some affirmative action in choosing golfers....why can't the boys play too?

Affirmative Action is only when qualified people of a certain, sex, race or other protected class are not adequately represented in the actual positions.

It is pretty easy to determine that whoever claims affirmative action treatment in football is probably NOT QUALIFIED.
