If I inherit stuff AFTER I marry and it is willed to my name, is it still marital property? How much do prenuptial agreements hold up if they are scrutinized with good and expensive attorneys? How can one prevent the pitfall of someone saying "I signed it under duress, b/c I wanted to get married?" I can understand the social statement of commitment to marriage, but is there no guarantee of protection of assets?

A prenup only covers assets before the marriage and not assets acquired during the marriage so a prenup wont help you here. One usually marries for life so why worry about divorce and asset dissolution now and if you feel this way, worried about losing your assets, then why get married at all?
