My 99 taurus on a full tank of gas did 190 miles, now its on empty. i know this is really bad mileage for a car. I chnged the spark plugs and wires!!!! what else can i do?!!! I swear to God, i spend about 150 dollars amonth on gas alone!!!!! and its' really starting to bother me! 20 dollars gives me about 6 gal. of gas, and i burn that with in 2 days just going to work and home, but my job is only 15 min frm my home.....plz ne help????

fuel filter
proper air pressure in tires

check the basics: clean air filter? proper air in tires? driving like a jackrabbit (fast starts and sudden stops) stop and go driving? plugged or partially obstructed exhausts? o2 sensor working?

Make sure your tires are proper inflated.Remove all excess weight.Drive the minimum speed limit.Make sure your tank does not have a hole in it.Good Luck.

change your o2 sensor, air filter, check for a leak in the line, changing the plugs and wire does nothing btw

check ur catalytic converter. could be plugged
