ignore them, why give them what they are looking for?...don't you know it pleases them when they see that they have succeeded in upsetting you? when you ignore them it must be awfully frustrating for them...don't lower your own standards, to even acknowledge them...just pass over them, as if you didn't even see their answer, that is the BEST thing to do...it defeats their sad purpose

When we post questions on y/a we are inviting people to answer them with their opinions, beliefs, humor, scarasam etc. They are not all going to answer favorably. If you do not like to get answers that differ from your opinions or beliefs or that you find abusive or offensive then I suggest that you do not ask questions. Just like you have a right to ask anything that you want other people have a right to answer any way they want. If the answer however is against yahoo policies simply report the answer to yahoo. You can also give it a thumbs down so that you do not have to continously see it when checking your other answers.

I hope you don't mind me commenting but I do believe we have to be careful in how we word are Questions. Some Q's do lend themselves to rude abusive answers. I have been fortunate and not suffered this abuse. I have also seen the most innocent of Questions receiving abusive answers. Just ignore them and keep posting.

I havent experienced this. Just remember Yahoo answers is not real life. Ignore all comments that are insulting, belittling, abusive and carry on as normal and think to yourself thank Gawd Im better than them!!

Different people in different moods in different states of consciousness, of differing intelligence and religio/political views answer at different times in different places.
There will never be a concensus, that would be impossible.
Remember also that some of us will see a question and immediately see something humourous in it and make a reply reflecting that humour.
Many questions are posed with the intent of summoning a wiitty riposte.
Happy New Year

Dont ask the same questions over and over again.
It gets annoying when people ask the same type of question over and over again without actually heeding the advice they have been previously given for the same type of question that has been asked by you too many times.
To ask the same question with different wording say a hundred times is very frustrating for those who see your repeated questions.
People may become frustrated due to this and thus lose it at you.

I think people that abuse, belittle and insult people on here are very insecure. Maybe it's the only time they feel as though they "are" somebody. Best to just ignore. Apart a well chosen retort.

They do it because they can get away with it in total anonymity, whereas in real life they would never have the guts to be so rude to you face to face.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and should be allowed to express them on this site, afterall that is what it is all about, however there is absolutely nothing at all clever in being rude and abusive, so report them please if you are offended.

I think there is an option somewhere on answers to report abuse. The person gets warned and if they do it again they get banned. Unfortunately there are idiots out there with nothing better to do.

The best thing to do is to simply ignore them, really it isn't worth bothering about someone who feels the need to hurl abuse anonymously.
