the chick refuses to give the guy a paternity test because he doubts the baby is his because she is so light...i mean, she looks almost pale like mixed or something...

All he has to do is go to court and have a court order for paternity test sent to her. She will HAVE to comply or go to jail. To answer your question...Yes a black man and a dark skinned woman CAN have a light skinned baby, it's called a Recessive GENE. Somewhere in ONE of their family is-was a light skinned relative, happens quite often, and that gene is remains "dormant" until one particular baby is born.

Yes...I'm not going to draw out the Punnett square, but just know that light skin is a recessive trait, while dark skin is a dominant trait. One can have the light skin gene, but still be dark skinned. If this person reproduces with another person who has both genes, but is dark skinned, it is possible for the parents to both contribute light skin genes, leaving their offspring with light skin.

Yes it is possible. Both of my parents are brown skinned and I am extremely light skinned and so are my siblings. My grandmother on my father's side was extremely light skinned so we get it from her. However....if this chick is refusing a DNA test then he has a right to be concerned!!

it is possible I had a friend who's parents were both very light skinned but was born dark skinned it turned out her mothers grandmother (who no longer lived) was dark and she inherited her skin color so it is possible he should request a dna from a judge if she refuses and he thinks the child is his.

it depends on genetics. There are 2 alleles in every gene. Two people with brown eyes can have a blue eyed baby. The brown eye allele is dominant, so the parents would have each a blue eyed allele and a brown eyed allele - giving them brown eyes. They both give a blue eyed allele to the baby, giving the baby blue eyes. I supposed the same could be true of skin color.

***** please! Of course they can. Please get over the skin issue now. I happen to look like someone from Panama or some sort of Asian mix---this from two allegedly black people. After years of teasing and being made to feel like an outsider, at the ripe old age of 30, my mother suddenly remembered that I'm a dead ringer for my great Aunt Dorothy. Heaven's to bitsy, It's in the blood. I'm at least half indian on my fathers side and a quarter on my mom's. I resemble neither. I am 5' short, they are topping 6 feet, small boned, Asiatic eyes and a whole other skin color. I don't have anyone else's nose either. So there. Give it a rest.
P.S. My niece looks exactly like me. Not like her darker skinned parents. She has my eyes as well.
