Hispanics in general tend to lean Democrat, but it's not overwhelming. For example in the last presidential election, 53% voted for Kerry and 44% for Bush. Cubans are a notable exception as they tend to vote Republican because of the GOP's hardline stance against Castro. This makes a pretty big difference in Florida in particular because there are so many Cubans there.

Also, it should be noted that Hispanics tend to have much lower voter turnout than non-Hispanic whites and blacks, so they're not the huge voter bloc that they could be.

They went for the Republicans last time because Bush was from Texas and brother Jeb was Governor of Florida where a lot of Mexicans are, not to mention that Brother Jeb's wife is Hispanic. This time I believe they will vote Democrat ticket. But who knows? You can't group everyone into a little box.

I don't think the Hispanics vote as a block. They vote according to their own circumstances and for the policies that they believe in as individuals just like the rest of us.

That's hard to say. Typically, mexican-americans and the latin community tends to vote Republican because of their more conservative morals. From a social/fiscal standpoint, you'd expect them to vote for Democratic candidates as they're more inclined to help specific ethnicities, especially with a lot of Mexican-american people being concentrated in low-mid income areas.

If they ever get to vote, they probably won't bite the hand that initially feeds them.

If they get to vote, and are smart, they'll pay attention to what happens to the other minorities that stay on the democrat plantation.

Eventually, the hard-working Hispanics will vote for candidates that let them keep the money they earn, and reward self-sufficiency.

God willing, they will. We need the Democrats in office to fix the mess the Republicans have made these past 8 years.
