I am turning 25 in May and I already have my own home a husband and two children but I still have fun and have a messed up sense of humor.
The only difference is, when you are "grown up" you just have to know the approate times to be silly and have fun.
There is nothing wrong with a 40 year old acting like a child at times, they want to be young again too but the key is to be responsible at the same time. Good job not pushing old lady's onto the railroad tracks! But I think that goes in the category of crazy if someone did that ha ha.

Grown up is complicated. I don't think I have totally grown up either. The bottom line is that if you are a law abiding citizen, you are a generally responsible person, and are a genuinely good person, then you don't need to worry about what others think. There's nothing wrong with being a father or a mother, and there's nothing wrong with playing with your kids. Stick with the friends and family that know you best, and who accept you the way you are. Everyone else can take a long walk off of a short plank! There is no law against acting like a child once in a while with your own kids.
It becomes a problem when you lose control of your kids.

If women at 70 can have bright green hair and go round on skateboards then I don't see why anyone at 40 shouldn't be having a bit of fun. I think some people just lose the ability to act like a kid, but that's what we are really - just kids with a bit of responsibility created from experience.
If you wanna roll down the hill then go for it....and stuff those people who look at you in a funny way! Life is there for living, not just existing.

Being a grown up is taking responsibility for yourself and dependents of yours. There is nothing with having a sense of humor or kidding around. Some people lose this as they get older. Too bad. The playfulness is good for us. As we go through life we have more and more experiences and see things a little differently than we did as a kid. Then we are maturing through the experiences we have. I hope to hold on to at least part of the kid side of me. I love to dance. Younger peopel may laugh, but it makes me feel good.

"Grown Up" just means being old enough to take responsibility for your own actions. It's having the intelligence and discipline to make your own way in life....pay your own bills, buy your own food, etc. And treating others with respect. If you do those things, nothing else matters. You can roll down hills with kids, or skip through the park looking for the ice cream vendor. Some people think that being grown up is being stodgy and "un-fun", but they're wrong.

I'm so glad you said some people!!! I think you know how to enjoy life. Those people that you say look as you as undignified are probably wondering what kind of drug you took to be able to have so much fun. They aren't looking disapprovingly they are looking with "I wish I could still enjoy life like that" eyes!! Keep up the good work and no matter what kind of looks you get keep showing your kids its okay to have fun even when they are "Grown Up" It's the secret to a long life!!! LIFE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS YOU MAKE IT!!!

"grown up" is definitly not losing anything that ou have when your younger, just adding more onto that! you can be silly and have fun as long as you're taking responsibilities on also. At the same time it depends on who it is that is judging you if rolling down hills is considered undignified to them then there family life isn't as close as yours.

Usually it's adolescents who are the most humorless....including those 40-year old adolescents.
That being said, everything has a context. It's probably cool to roll down a hill with your kids at the park, maybe not so cool to do so at your cousin's wedding, in full view of the photographers.
If you're really canny, you can call yourself an artist and label your fun "performance." Hee hee!

The definition of a healthy, well adjusted individual is:
1. To be able to have loving, mutally respectful relationships.
2. The ability to work and be productive.
3. The ability to play and enjoy life.
If you are all those things then other people can kiss your ****. You are healthier than most.

If something, they're the loopy ones to have self assurance you fairly think of of you're a cat. who's familiar with? possibly their experience of humor does no longer prepare on an identical time as human beings declare their cats, they could take exhilaration in the circus as a replace. Hell, they in all probability are as bland via employing certainty the 'sparkling eyes is surprising' guy.
