Hang, hang, hang.

I have NEVER had so many problems navigating the internet. Sometimes I have to stop loading a page and retry a half dozen times and sometimes I just give up and go use my other computer that has IE. I end up sending some email twice and some not at all due to hanging, reloading and messing with back buttons. I have never hated trying to get around the internet more. Anything that involves "try starting in safe-mode.." must surely suck. Would you stay with it or surrender? I've been using it for 7 months and it only gets worse. The Mozilla "help" is way too technical and not helpful at all. I have a college degree & I'm lost! The only reason I switched to it is because the Spybot Search and Destroy techs recommended it after helping me clean out of bunch of viruses and really sticky spyware. If I go back to IE, will the problems stop? Is there any guidance out there on how to set your IE browser settings to surf safe? I need help.

Experience appreciated!

I hate to say it but you got more spyware.

Anytime you have problems browsing the internet it is either your internet service provider, or your computer. And if its the computer you either have a virus or spyware messing you up.

I am going to get SOOOOO many thumbs down for saying this but im goin to anyway.

There is NO difference in web browsers.

All browsers take you to the sane internet. And ultimatly function is the same way.

Think of it like a car. Is there really that much of a difference between a Ford 4X4 and a Chevy 4X4? Of course not.

Granted you will always hear those that say one is better then another but thats ultimatly just personal preference.

Everyoen badmouths IE but its really not a bad browser. It has certain dissadvantages because it is the most commonly used browser, so certain virus are designed to attack only IE browsers... But microsoft typically updates and makes changes to fix those bugs quickly.

Netscape, firefox, ect... Those work EXACLY that same as IE...

Yeah, thats right, i said it.

They work exacly the same, they simply do it with slightly different codeing that makes them immue to some (let me say that again SOME) IE spyware and viruses. But they take you to the same internet, and dispaly in the same way.

The only real difference is that some browsers are have more bells and whissels makeing them stronger againt spyware and viruses (typically at the cost of surfing speed) while others are more streemlined for speed but makeing them more vulnerable. But is any one really better??? NO

I say uninstall Firefox. Run spybot, and spend the $50 on a good anti-virus. Then either try IE agian, or Reinstall firefox. Problem should be gone then.... If not try Netscape... If its still not solved then you need to hire a pro to fix your comp.

If Firefox is not working for you, then go back to IE. The usual reason for recommending FF is because a smaller of people use it then IE, so there are fewer viruses, spywares, etc written to attack it. However in the last year, the number of FF users has grown to around 40-45% of people. That has removed most of the advantage. Plus IE 7 has all of the features and security that made FF safer.

So while I am a huge FF fan, and normally recommend it over IE, if it is giving you problems, go back to IE.

(Just be sure to keep your spyware scanner up to date and you should be fine.)

I have some of those problems with Firefox too. I get a lot of computer "****" when the page turns. It's like the page never really translated..it's all some kind of weird computer language and it happens all the time. I wish I had an answer for you but truthfully, I'm waiting to see the outcome on your answer, because I might do the same thing. BTW...some of the people answering in here today are pretty nasty. Sorry!

Hello,
You can download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox from here http://bit.ly/1p6kaag

Mozilla Firefox is one of the world's most popular web browsers and, to me, it's the best.

Bye Bye

Do whatever you feel you need to do; try IE again and see if the problems stop; but, remember that thousands of people without a college degree use FireFox everyday with no problems.

I, for one, will never go back to Internet Explorer.

I have both Firefox and Apple Safari but I never use Firefox. Safari is a whole lot better than Firefox but yet firefox is a whole lot better than IE. Go do yourself a favor and download Safari. This is not like spam it's the same company that makes MAC's and iPods, so go download it @ http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

It's a poor operator that blames the equipment. Maybe you need to teach yourself how to use it properly . It should not be difficult with your college degree!

NOTHING WRONG WITH FIREFOX !
