What are your thoughts on the people of Essex ?

When told that someone is from Essex ,what are your first thoughts ?

I'm from Thorpe Bay based in Essex. Unfortunately Essex does have a bad reputation but thats just a generalisation, many here are very respectful people.

We are not all Essex Girls/Boys. Some of us are Essex Ladies/Gentleman.

P.S. For those in Essex I know this is a long shot but does anyone know who Tetro is? I've seen his stickers round and about town lately and was wondering if anyone could shine some light on this - if not no worries :)

First thoughts; weekends in Southend during the mid-seventies! Didn't the media cliche go like this; the nearer toward the border with Greater London, the more surreal it was...but up towards Colchester and the borders of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, it was a different world altogether.
Was it not Mrs. Thatcher's love of the socio-economic C2's that turned the county into a circus during the eighties, with the 'Darren 'n' Sharon' nonsense/XR3i's/loadsamoney trip? After that had wore off, the Essex boys and girls realised they had been skanked, and turned against the Tories.
