It is hard. Women are becoming more independent and have no qualms in going for what they want. For us men on the other hand, we are visual and like the variety, the chase and just pushing the boundries.
The way I have rationalised my monogamy is that I can direct the emotinal and sexual energy I have to my work, hobbies etc. I also try not to put myself in compromising situations. So if you are attracted to someone and she asks you to help her move, make sure you will not be alone with her or come up with an excuse.
We are human and can walk into a room and be instantly attracted to someone whether or not you or they are single. The key is not to act on it and walk away. Trust me it is hard but after a while you just don't see the point in going down that road, because when you cheat you also tell lies along the way and you cannot remember every lie that you tell and it comes back and bite you.

I think many factors effect one's ability to stay true to one person. Your age, opportunity to meet potential mates, seriousness of commitment to your partner, your maturity, cultural expectations for male or female behavior, societal pressures for monogamy in your income or class all factor in.
Understanding why you're tempted to cheat can help you skip the urge. Spend some quality time with yourself - maybe you just aren't ready for a single partner life? The fact you write "women" instead of "woman" in your question indicates to me that you're still in a multi-partner stage of life.
If so, do your girlfriend a favor and tell her that you can't be monogamous now. Let her go so find someone who is mature enough for an adult relationship.

Well, cheating is a choice. We all have instincts and sexual drives, and there is always someone yummier you haven't done yet out there, but if you are in a commited relationship, you gave your word to stay with this person.
Maybe you are not meant to be in a serious relationship, or are just not ready yet? Maybe what you need is to saw your oats first?
But you can't do it unless you end your relationship with your lady first.

There is nothing wrong with dating more than one woman at a time. That is wha dating is for, to find the woman you CAN make a committment to. Making a commitment the first time you go out with someone is just plain being stupid.

When you meet the right person you won't even be tempted. You'll only have eyes for her. You obviously are not getting all of your needs met whether they are emotional or physical. Keep looking!
