Reasonably, and yes I do - and listen to BBC world news etc. But as a former journalist I know "news" is selective, and the media only presents the tips of the icebergs. The classic definition of news VALUE used to be "what affects the reader (etc) most directly and immediately". Now it's mostly entertainment value, or what feeds into what the reader has been taught to accept as news value - including the doings of celebrities who do nothing that affects anybody. So I scan the media to get an idea of what propaganda values are shaping opinion, and how. Some of it has significance, after all. But new wisdom is always dissent and heresy initially, so I watch that most closely.

Yes, I pay good attention to both domestic and international news. I am aware of what's going on around the world, unlike most.
For those that rely on CNN and especially FOX news as their source of international news, they aren't really getting the whole truth. These are more like tools of propaganda rather than actual facts.

Yup, I’m kind of a news junky. My satellite TV is always on any one of the many English speaking 24 news channels from around the world. I find it interesting to flip through the channels and compare the different “slants” that each news organization has on the same event (i.e. Russia, France, UK, US, and yes… even Al Jazera.) With all these different points of view and biases you can actually find something remotely resembling the truth - more so than if you only watched one station like CNN. It is possible to control the media in one country but controlling different news organizations from different countries, who may not even be able to agree on the color of the sky, is virtually impossible. Sometimes it’s hard to believe they are covering the same event. I think it’s really cool.

Yes and yes.
But more often than not, you MIGHT NOT get the complete picture. Be aware of that. Don't create a fixed impression of the world from what is told to you - well, sometimes it is true, but sometimes it's false.
For example: In Russia, because Putin controls the national media, anti-Putin protests are likely not to be reported on news channels (my source - news media...how ironic!) just like reporting about anti-war protests is discouraged in America and the numbers of protesters are misreported.
But channels like BBC World in Canada have also reported inaccurately (understatement, believe me), so....uh...yeah.
There are risks involved (wear a condom...WTF?!) but you can get a basic idea of the things going on. :D

Moon,
all too close; all to often; I come here to provide a "break" to my mind and my thoughts.
Follow the BBC News if you get it in South America, the American News (except for PBS) has placed the Presidential race in the middle of this sad event sorry to say. Yet again sensationalizing the tragedy.

Yes, the news from Pakistan made me positively ill. My friend said to me something I'd like to share "Fundamentalism of any faith is a disease of the mind, a brainwashing personality cult, that no sane person should recognize as a legitimate spiritual path". These words are echoing in my head when I think of such recent events.

yes and I am outraged; as anyone should be. I'm concerned that there will be no future for my grandchildren and no retirement for my children. I'm afraid for the world, these crazy people believing that killing is a good thing, the same for some Christians looking for the rapture. Has everyone gone insane? For sure our leaders have.

Yes and always! Sad day for democracy when someone can point a gun in a good woman's face and kill her just like that. I don't really want to know any more on that right now.
