I think it is not, as everyone's perspective of the world is subjective because everyone has unique experiences.
Realism is an idealistic idea, so by saying your a realist, and, therefore, admitting you have succumbed to such an ideal, you are proving you are not a realist.
I would love to hear your opinions of this concept. Thank you for reading this.

Let's see. I can see several real things about this. One is you think, that is real. Everyone has a subjective outlook on reality that is real although incomplete because people are objective about reality too. Idealistic ideas are real too even though only in the mind. We do succumb to ideals, that too is real and it is real that I am subjective to your idea that I and others aren't realists since we have succumbed to reality be it ideal or no. But I'm not sure at all and I don't consider it real that you would love to hear the opinions of this concept but really, I could be wrong.

Yes, it is possible to be realistic. You can't state that "everyone's perspective of the world is subjective", because you don't know everyone. You are right, experiences are one influence that forms the personality and so is subjective. You are right that the majority and nearly all humans in the momentary state of evolution are not capable to relate in an objective way to reality because they are identified with their personality and this is a conglomerate of beliefs, concepts, dreams, memories, experiences and a self-image, well established and built up during ones life time. Out of this people are getting their feeling of existence and it is limited to this. Out of this they are reacting to outside influences and therefore it is not possible that they are objective or realistic.
But when one has cleared up ones personal background, what of course is a life long growing process, then the perception of the world is not filtered anymore through ones personality and their limitations to relate to the world. Then ones perspective becomes objective and so realistic. This is no ideal but a state of being and the future state of humans, although at the moment there is not much of it visible...

To be an absolute realist in all things may be beyond the grasp of us, but certainly some people are more dedicated to reality than others. Realists search for truths and try to brush the cobwebs of delusion off themselves. I think it is not fair or accurate to dismiss that accomplishment and effort on the part of some people on the basis that it may not have reached perfection - as opposed to what other endeavor that humans undertake? Shall we call a concert pianist a fraud because he is not perfect and cannot play all the music there is in the literature?

Of course it is valid to speak of a realist. It is a noble effort, in my opinion, as well.

I believe you should be asking whether its possible to be objective.

I have a cup of coffee in front of me. I am sure that any reasonable observer that comes to my place and looks at the table would agree there is a cup of coffee. This principle can be extended, within limits, such that some judgments depend on the observer, such as "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

For sure calling oneself a 'realist' is an idea and an illusion, a self-image, indeed unrealistic. So I wouldn't call myself a realist, but at least it is possible in ones perception to be in parts realistic. Probably this has to do and depends on ones knowledge and specially with self knowledge.

No, because there is no one, real, in the mind of humans, for example, some may say the world is flat, and in their mind, that is real, and they are realist.

Yes but remember one thing: reality is in the eye of the beholder.
