We reproach the sex every day with folly and impertinence; while I am confident, had they the advantages of education equal to us, they would be guilty of less than ourselves.

This is about the best interpretation I can give you:

Men (we) blame or discredit (reproach) women (the sex) daily. Men enjoy (with folly) belittling them and go above and beyond in their efforts to the point of being just plain rude (impertinence).

While I am confident, : ( At this time in the world, education was limited to men) Postulating that if women had been educated equally to men, they would not be so unkind to men as men are to women. (Basically this demeaning behavior towards women is more an issue of no manners and male egotism than differences in intelligence.) Kind of like making others question their own self worth so you feel better about yourself in comparison.

They were the kind of people that are just a little nicer then we are , so if they would have been educated in our school they wouldn't have done as much as we did ,,,, they were a little better then us ,but poorly educated so we did the same sort of stuff....and to say it one last way , we were on the same level as them but only because we were better educated then them .
