So, I recently ran accross som cool looking jewelry online with a gem called "amertrine." It is supposedly when amethyst and citrine form next to eachother, they cut where they meet so it is half yellow, half purple looking. Anyway, it looks really cool, but what I want to know is if it is a legitmate stone? Should I pay alot of money for this or is "ametrine" some made up, cheap stone???

thanks!

seems to be legitimate. Here's a link to an informative website:

it is a legit stone.
Its when Amethyst and Citrine develop from the same base mineral, and it happens when the 2 develop into one stone.
