Hi, I recently purchased a used honda civic 94. Whenever the car warms up, I can smell oil burning from the vents. (if the vent is on fresh air). First, I thought maybe I have an oil leak from the valve cover or head gasket. However, I took the car to a shop, and they told me that all the gaskets are fine. They said my rack/steering is leaking fluid, and that is causing the oil burning smell. Does that make sense? Should I take the car somewhere else to check again? Thanks!

The steering rack can be leaking from the seals inside the rack boots, but also from the metal lines if rusted out or the rubber hoses. Better get an estimate so you know what it is. When the hose blows you will lose power assist and wreck the pump.
