Help I just got a new gateway laptop for Christmas, and I cant get the internet, my specs say I have this,
10/100 Ethernet LAN
802.11g Wireless LAN
and I also bought a dsl router, how do I get the internet hooked up?

I heard I needed a PCMCIA card, where do I get one, and should it have come with the laptop.

connect your router to your cable or DSL modem
connect your computer to the router and follow the setup instructions (it probably came with a setup CD)
you can leave your computer connected directly to the router, or you can use the wireless connection instead

what's your router? if you're planning to use a cable and another pc is already connected to the internet using that dsl router, then just connect an ethernet cable to your new laptop and it should let you in. but if you're thinking of connecting wirelessly, call the internet provider to walk you through the steps.

try this
on the toolbar you will see "tools" click that then,
"internet options" then,
click "connections" then,
set up
