Most people get popular by thinking a lot of themselves. If you strut around like your the most important person on Earth then people will notice you. All of the popular people I know, got popular by loving themselves and ya loving themselves.

Its an "IT" factor as American Idol calls it. Its really nothing you can control you either have it or not. Some people just give of that Ora. Being somewhat Popular can be achieved by being outgoing friendly, likeable, interesting, making people drawn to you.

Traits that people popularize on tv because a lot of popular people are downright annoying or not good people. Some are kind and sweet though.

if you're talking about highscool popular then its probably being sexy or being in with the right crowd.
if in general then probably just being a nice person that everyone can turn to for help and advice.
