why do you bother with them? I can't think of why you feel you have to even deal with these types of people...I also don't understand, why you bother to respond to people who just want two points out there and will say anything...Hold your head up high my friend, and rise above all the nonsense..it's such a waste of time

normally when people patronize you they use some form of cynicism or sarcasm to accomplish their goal and since most persons can't really perceive the sarcasm in their statements they tend to feel that they are smarter than the other person or people in general. There's an easy way to deal with people like that. You just calmly and tactfully call them out on it. They will either apologize and stop or they'll ignore your point but find someone else to patronize

I was going to say precisely the first sentence that SteveLaw said.
Although they think they know more than you, or know something that you don't, this doesn't necessarily mean that that's a fact. You may know things that they don't. They attempt to make themselves seem brighter by putting others down, or by belittling that person, with scant regard for what they do know.
My advice to you, if you are the one being patronised, is to ignore that person. Focus on what you do know, and what you're good at.
Blessings to you.

I feel that ppl are not patronised, they feel they are patronized ie just because the person knows this and tells u this u feel stupid and that they think they are smarter than u. But really they probably couldn't care less. You ask, u get the answer and that is it.

Maybe they are just sharing their knowledge and you are not being receptive to others opinions...
If they are instead arrogant know it alls - then just ignore their attitudes and listen to their ideas.. even those *** clowns sometimes say something profound..
Disregard what you know is wrong.

I tend to find patronising people are often unhappy with themselves so they put others down to make themselves feel better.
