My school is doing the Music Man for our play this year. We are doing the shorter version of it, and I got the part of Gracie Shinn.
I do not have a script yet, and we are on winter break, there is no way i can ask my director, because she is on vacation.
So i was wondering a few things:

-do I sing in the chorus ?
-how many total scenes will i be in ?
most importantly- do i get to dance ?

please only answer if you know the answer to the question, and please don't be rude !

thanks :]

Gracie has very few lines and you do sing chorus most of the time. You get to enter with the mayor and family since you are the mayor's youngest daughter. You have about 3 lines or so, but hey... you got a name. No, unfortunately you don't get to dance much except where everyone is dancing and you don't usually get to do the dancing with the teen group of dancers. It depends on the director though. Tell him up front that you would LOVE to dance in that scene and Shipoopi and see if he puts you in it!

"Tommy Djilas did it!" "The Wells Fargo Wagon's coming" your lines are something like that. I believe they both repeat. I think the Wells Fargo one opens Act 2...

Firstly congratulations on your part. Gracie's song are all with the chorus, she's in a fair few scenes and this may have been just my director but Gracie was in a ballet on "Madam Librarian"
