Alain Lemieux stunk, how can anybody think he's the greatest?

Was Lemieux better than Gretzky? It's almost too tough to say - Gretzky had much better teammates and much better luck (esp. as to health) than Lemieux did. They didn't quite play the same style either, and the NHL was more wide-open for a greater span of Gretzky's career than Lemieux's.

Bobby Orr is still the best, period.

He could have been but he struggled through some tough times. (Health, management and the team around him-wise.) He's undeniably one of the greats. It will be impossible to put a concrete list in place because there have been some amazing hockey players, no list will be concrete, but he certainly was Le Magnifique.

Behind Gretzky that is

But yes, Lemieux was amazing.

He was my favorite player ever to watch. Greztky may have been better (very little) but Mario was amazing to watch. He is probably the second best player ever and the only one you can argue as being the best with Gretzky.

He had Gretzky as his rival in those terms, and the Great One broke the records, not Lemieux. He is an inspiration though when he was fighting cancer.

Anyone that watched Sudden Death knows that Jean Claude Van Damme won Pittsburgh the Cup against Chicago! LOL

Claude Lemieux was a great cheap shot. He also has more bling on his fing than that guy who wore 66.

No. I'd mix him in with Beliveau and Rocket Richard somewhere behind Gretzky, Orr and Howe, so in the middle of the top ten.
