There is no one who is absolutely safe in this world. She knew the risks and chose to accept them. People who are intent on doing harm will find a way around the tightest security.

Until we know who actually was behind the murder/ assignation it is hard to come to any real conclusion. If the current government was behind it, they may have made her even more powerful then she was before, and cost themselves the election.
