I'm wondering here....
Which wrestlers (past or present) have only been popular because of their Signature or Finishing move? For the sake of this, just name one wrestler and the move.

Discuss......

Hardcore Maniac- Good answer.

CTK- That is true about Scotty, and it's even worse that the move was ineffective as a finisher.

John Cena- A lot of the people you said are famous for other reasons. For example:

Rey Mysterio- matches in ECW and WCW
John Cena- gimmick on SD!
Batista- member of Evolution, power overall
Hogan- Charisma and mic skills

ALL THE GOOD ANSWERS WERE TAKEN WITH PETEY WILLIAMS AND SCOTTY 2 HOTTY.

I COULD NAME PRETTY MUCH EVERY SPOT MONKEY OUT THERE BUT I WONT I WILL NAME ONE WHO MOST ONLY KNOW FOR ONE MOVE OF HIS.

JIMMY SUPERFLY SNUKA.

KNOWN FOR BY ALOT OF YOUNGER FANS FOR HIS SPLASH OFF THE CAGE THAT THEY ONLY SAW WHEN MICK FOLEY TALKED ABOUT IT FOR BEING AT THE MATCH.

I agree with the Petey Williams statement of him being famous only for his finisher, but he's not a bad wrestler. I'll agree that he's a generic wrestler, but not a bad one.

Roberts was a great answer as well. The DDT was the $hit back in the day.

I'd say Billy Kidman. I'm not saying he invented the Shooting Star, as a matter of fact, I know for a fact he didn't. Some Japanese wrestler did (I used to think Lyger, but I heard it was someone else). I really don't see what all the fuss was about when it came to Kidman, he's just as good of an example as Petey Williams.

CM Punk. I'm not saying he's a bad wrestler, far from it, but at one point in his indy career, the words "CM Punk" and "Pepsi Plunge' were always in the same sentence when describing Punker.

There are other possiblities, like Abyss and Gregory Helms (Anyone remember the Vertebreaker? Sweet move)

Brock Lesnar.

In all fairness he was an ok wrestler, with good mic skills for a big guy.

But the F-5 was so innovative it was kind of like his entire gimmick.

I'd Say Petey Williams, with the Canadian Destroyer...I mean his mic skills suck and he's not that great of a wrestler...

I agree with Petey Williams with the Canadian Destroyer.

A few more:

~Hulk Hogan; His leg drop was very overrated
~John Cena; Somehow, i think part of his fame had to do with the "FU."
~Jeff Hardy; His swanton bomb is part of the reason he became a high flyer.
~Rey Mysterio; The 619, that had to get him famous!
~Goldberg; His spear is the best and that is how he is recoginzed like that
~This sounds weird but i think Sgt. Slaughter; The Cobra Clutch...when slaughter returned and it was orton vs slaughter, JR starting talking about the cobra clutch!

Just a few to mention!
Good Q! *starred*!
