That would depend entirely on what he did when he got here.

If he was sharp enough to observe, blend in and take enough time to find the right channels to get his "messages" out, then probably not.
However, if he just went at it gung-ho with the throttle full out, he would gain a limited following among some branches of the fundamentalist sects, but would probably infuriate a lot of others and end up on the FBI's surveillance lists, at the very least.

I do NOT consider myself a Christian, but I DO believe Jesus existed. What I believe about him is that he was the most spiritually advanced entity to incarnate on this earth up to that point in time. (There may have been others since, but they probably learned from what happened to him and generally kept a lower profile - with the possible exception of Ghandi, of course.) Please understand, though, that I place absolutelky NO religious significance on any of this.
If he WERE institutionalized and medicated, however, I believe he would have a strong enough spiritual energy field to overcome any ill effects from it - although whether he would choose to do so or not would be another matter.

He'd only be institutionalized if he couldn't take care of himself or was a threat to himself or others. Seeing as he only preached and allowed people to follow him from their own free will, he is not a threat. He would probably receive an SSI check and be told to take medication. The only time he'd be under scrutiny is when he has lots of followers. People would deem him the leader of a cult. But even cults aren't attacked by the government until something bad happens.

I could see someone who hates him claiming that he had a terrorist plan or something. Or maybe someone murdering the crazy man. But I can't see him easily being institutionalized.
