and they fear the unfamiliar and individuality
they don't know that most the people in there are actually very nice.
and don't say retarded. its not a synonym for stupid or insane or senseless, etcetera.

I shop at Hot Topic... it's a cool store and people are just judging you before getting to know you. Ask them; have THEY ever been in Hot Topic??

people call you a freak because they're shallow, insecure, closed minded little twits. who feel the need to put you down to make themselves feel better about being unoriginal sleeps. i occasionally shop at hot topic sometimes and i'm not punk or goth or rock. so they're is nothing wrong with shopping there and you are just merely expressing your indiviuality. Ignore the losers!

im in the same situation.
my school have alot of hip hop listeners, and they call me freak already just b/c i'm the only girl in school who listens to rock music.
i say, buy the whole store and show them the perfect rock chick freak u are!!!!

I'm 48 and love Hot Topic! I'm too old to wear alot of those clothes, but some of that stuff is sooo cute. And I love just reading the T-shirts!!!!!!!

people are stupid. i think they need to have someone to wrag on all the time to keep theyre level of self importance up, let em say what they want... your realy friends wont care because they know you and if they do then diss em cuz they arent your real friends.... or you could have some fun with the preps calling you that. i would scare the crap outta them. i dont know..
