Were you actually injured? If not, they knew what they were doing and this is a moot point.

if you went to jail for a misdemeanor you wouldn't even be in the same building as felons. You're talking about someone who is under arrest for murder, not convicted. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Your story doesn't jive my friend. If its a holding cell its a holding cell.
Are you talking about a city jail? If so, its perfectly legal. They only have so many resources. I was arrested for unpaid traffic fines in high school and I shared a cell with a guy who was being tried for beating his little sister to death (true story)....the bailiff asked me if I minded, I said no and it was all good.
If nothing happened to you, then all is well.
I suggest in the future you not break the law if you are scared of serving time with other criminals.

Nope. A crime is a crime. And jail is jail. And most are not DESIGNED for only felons or only misdemeanants. They're designed for criminals of all sorts, and built to hold the worst of the lot. And if you polled the posters on Y!A, I think you'd find they don't care where they put criminals, just so they're off the streets.

Jail is jail. They have no obligation to separate prisoners based on the nature of their offense.
Jail is not supposed to be fun, if you didn't like it, try not to go back.

No it's not.
Jails are overcrowded nowadays so they de-code people by they color of their uniforms or barcode on their wrist.
