To Love My 2 Girls:
Ummm.... I wouldn't recommend Jack Asher. Try saying it really fast. See what I mean?

To Bubbly:
I like Jonathan Asher a lot. And Jack makes a great unexpected nickname, since Jack is a traditional nickname for John.

Jonathan is always a classic, and I don't mind the nickname Jack for it at all (despite the differing root from simply John). That definitely works just fine. :)

And I ADORE Asher! Always a favorite. Classic and Biblical, but not at all overused (though I realize it's certainly become more familiar in the past few years).

Jonathan Asher certainly sounds like a distinguished, well-thought-out choice. I would beware of the *one* possible issue here, however. The "nickname" (teasing potential) "Jack Ash." Since you will be using Jack as a familiar form, it seems safe to assume the "Jack Ash" nickname could easily stick once his peers discover his middle name (no doubt in one of the many name projects assigned by his school LOL). Not a huge deal, but definitely something I'd consider before making a final decision. ;)

Asher Jonathan, nickname Ash (or even Jack, still, if it holds special significance), definitely has a similar feel, but might help to avoid the Jonathan (Jack) Ash(er) issue. Just some things to keep in mind. ;) Hope it helps.

I don't like the name Jonathan, even though most are called Jon for short. Jack is cool, so why not just name him Jack?
I'm not sure about Asher either, and it doesn't sound right after Jack.
Sooo...

Jack Austin
Jack Ardan
Jack Braden
Jack Donovan
Jack Reilly
Jack Rylan

Also Jack is a nickname for John, and I like John better than Jonathan, also... which may match more with second names.

I like Jonathan Asher... Very Cute!!
however if you want to call him Jack... Then just name him Jack
Jack Asher.

Why name him a name that you don't plan on using...I don't know why people do that.

It partially depends on the last name (assuming Asher is the middle name) but I really like it.
