Last night after using the bathroom I went back into my sleeping bag that was on the living room floor. Quickly afterwards I had the fallowing dream.
I was in my room, getting up to go get some water. My room light was on but the rest of the house was in the dark.- How it usually is in awoke time.
As I was walking unto the hallway that separates my room from the kitchen I clicked the light switch up It didn't come on. I went to the kitchen and I tried to turn on the light switch there. It didn't come on either. By then my heat started to pump and something just seemed a little to eerie for my liking.
I decided to make a run back to the safety of my room. As I was in the hallway that now had turned into a very long tunnel with me just barley able to see my room door at the end,
I saw I shadowy figure of a human.
( The whole time I was dreaming I actually thought it was real life. That is a first for me. Anyway.. )
My heart was pumping and I was very scared so
I started to run as fast as I could. Behind my closed door that I was getting a little closer to I could see a bit of light under it...I ran faster, and faster...faster then I ever could toward the light.
I felt like my heart was going to burst.
Finally right when I reached my door handle and my shaky hand was turning the knob the shadow figure smashed into me, my body literally felt crushed. I couldn't breathe and I hurt all over.
My back was now to the door and the shadows figure had 'its' two hands on my throat.
I couldn't see "it" because it was too dark but I surly felt 'it'. I tried screaming but nothing come out.
My head felt light, I was twisting and turning my body, trying to yell, cry, or just make a sound.
I felt like I was dying. But then like a sudden flash
I saw a book right in my reach. I grabbed it and started to bang it on the door, as hard and fast as
I could. Somehow I just knew if I did that my parents
( whom are dead. May the R.I.P. )
would come. The hands on my throat got tighter and tighter until I felt like my head was going to pop off. But I kept banging my door with the book, more frantically then ever. Finally the figure left me alone. I still felt it was there.
But it was no longer touching me.
I then went into my room. The light was on but I was still terrified. I was just standing by the light, afraid it would go out, crying, then I yelled out hoarsely that come out as a whisper 'mummy, daddy!' Immediately they came.
My father picked me up while my mum walked me out the same hallway I had just be fighting for my life in. I felt safe though. They then took me to a sunny outside dinner, opened the book I had been banging the door with and prayed with me.
I then fell asleep. And that's all I remember.
My fellow mates whom had been sleeping on the ground with me said I had me kicking and turning in my sleep, I also had been whimpering.
Right when they were going to wake me I went into a peaceful sleep. They then did the same.
Just out of curiosity is my subconscious trying to tell me something or is this a deeper psychology issue?

It's probably best not to over analyze your dream, but as a student of Carl Jung, I can't dismiss it as "just a bad dream" either.
I find it helpful to focus on how I feel during a dream as the best way to figure out what it was about. From your account, I'm going to suggest that the dream reflects your apprehension at facing life without the protection of your parents; the shadowy figure just represents the unknown. The book may represent "wisdom" which is what helps you through.
Check out Jung is you haven't already. His ideas of the "collective unconscious" and "universal archetypes" are quite amazing.

Apart from being a lament to your late father and mother, no one else can explain your dream, it is personal to you.
If I had the dream it would mean that the house seemed bigger, and more scarey with both my parents dead, but I never felt that. My mother died when I was young, and I was told she had gone upto heaven, my father was very ill when he died, and we were looking after him until he died.
When my brother died, I had lots of deams as if he, and my father had come back to life, I put this down to coming to terms, with their deaths.
I don't know your circumstances re the lights not turning on, did your parents change the light bulbs when they were alive?
I think dreams are our subconscious minds way of reconciling events.
When I was young, and shy, I used to have a recuring dream that I had to get something from a shop, which was in a playground where giants were playing. Although I was scared, the giants never hurt me.
The reality was that I was scared of the other children at school, yet they gave me no reason to be scared.

To dream that you are in a panic, indicates a lack of control and power in your life. You may be feeling helpless in some situation or unable to make a clear decision. To dream that you are going through a tunnel, suggests that you are exploring aspects of your unconscious. You are opening yourself to a brand new awareness. Alternatively, it indicates your limited perspective. To see the light at the end of a tunnel, symbolizes hope. It may also indicate the end of your journey or goals. To see mysterious figures in your dream, signifies great mental distress. To dream that you or someone else is being strangled, denotes that you are repressing or denying a vital aspect of your expression. To see books in your dream, indicates calmness. You will advance toward your goals at a slow and steady pace. Books also symbolize knowledge, intellect, information and wisdom. Consider the type of book. It may represent a significant calling into a specific field of work.To dream that you are praying, signifies a need to turn over some matter to a higher force and let it go. You need to learn to relinquish and let go of your worries. It may also be an indication that you need to pray more.

i think it means that you have some troubles in your life for now, but you will fight for them i think its telling you that you should fight and your parents (may they R.I.P) are the security that you need to become well...
poor you . you must have been terrified i hate the feeling when you want to scream but you cant and you feel like you should wake up and stop but at the same time it all feels so real and it doesnt even feel like its just a stupid nightmare, and all you want is a shelter
ok annnnyways
dude having someone shoking you is def a bad thing but the fact that you fought it gives good signs .
lucid dreams always f*ck us up -_-

It sounds like your'e afraid of something happening in your adult life that you feel like you can't confront whether your'e aware of it or not.Ypur'e subconsciously trying to revert back to a time when people (your parents) sorted things out for you & comforted you. Take stock of your life & try to turn negatives into positives through thought & action. You will be able to develop confidence in your own ability to protect yourself & do things your own way.

Meaning is a sense of purpose and essence is the quality, while purpose is the reason for which something is done or exists. Therefore, meaning is simply purpose with essence.

i think it is your subconcious. perhaps the dark figure is something you are afraid of could be a person or thing or even a feeling- and all you want is your parents cuz you know they would save you from the fear. look in your life and see what might be scaring you right now and know that even though your parents are gone you will be fine becasue they are still looking out for you from where they are now.

No my Russian friend, it is just a bad dream. Do not psychoanalyze it, you will end up going round in psychological circles. If it is a one off and has not reasserted itself you do not have any sort of problem at all. Sweet Dreams.
