Your mom's self esteem must be very low if she keeps going back for more. Have you talked to her about how you feel about whats happening to her? You need to try and get her some councilling for her self esteem issues, there are all sorts of programs out there for these kinds of problems. The only way for you to be involved with a restraining order is if he hit you, she has to be the one to get it, but what she really needs is professional help and to stop going there. Tell her that you love her and this isn't right. Its not fair for you to have to sit by and watch what's happening. Hopefully she will listen.

Just wondering why your Mom keeps going to a guys house when the guy beats her up. Can't she just stay away? I don't think a restraining order is going to work if she's going over there.

Next time she goes wait a while then follow. If he starts beating her, make a 911 call and hope the cops catch him in the act. Then mom won't have to press charges, the cops will, and you will be a witness.

I think you should go to the police and file a complaint.

It's your mom. It's her responsibility. I know you want to help her but all you can really do (besides calling the cops but that won't work if she won't press charges herself) is tell her how much this hurts you and ask her to stop. I"m sorry you're in this situation. Good luck

You need to call the police immediately! If you dont want to call 911, call your local police department and ask to speak with an officer there.

You need to have a serious talk with your mom and tell her she needs to call the police, if she won't do it, you need to. And hurry before it's too late and you don't get another chance!

Call a womens shelter in your area and ask them what to do. They have hotlines and you can speak to people who have been in the same situation and can help you.
Try these:

well violence/revenge is never the answer. simply talk to your mom about it. and go to the police. this needs to stop immediately, before anything terrible happens. (not saying it would happen, but it might.) you don't want to risk anything.
