A Wrinkle in Time was very good.
A Tale of Two Cities is a classic. You need to read it to be a well rounded person.

I would read A Wrinkle in Time, and definitely Heart of Darkness, a Tale of Two Cities was good, if you like that sort of thing and anything by Robert A. Heinlen is good.

I would not recommend The Fountainhead [ a literary Dr. Phil in my opinion] and I am not familiar with Walker Percy but all the others are very readable, depending on your mood and taste. I am surprised your local library could not supply at least some of these books. Did you ask the librarian if he/she could obtain them for you? My library is very obliging in this way, even obtaining new releases I see reviewed in The New York Review of Books and the Times Literary Supplement.

Some of these books are good some are classics and some just suck.

I recommend the uncut version of the stand it makes so much more sense.
