Trust me. Opposums(not native here and are real pests) in Oregon are not endangered. The highways and roads are paved with them.

While it is true that we at the Possum Advisory Board have been vigorously promoting the noble possum as a perfectly acceptable substitute for a variety of meat and meat products, I feel it important to differentiate the possum from the "white meat" classification. Our studies have shown, and under advisement from our legal staff, that to promote it as such would open up an opportunity for racial law suits.
Hence, or motto is "Possum. The other pink meat".
Actually it is a more precise description of the product. Particularly when one thinks about the normal harvesting technique of "road side collection".
However, as much as we laud your idea of creating a farm, free range I hope, in all honesty, I would think it would not be particularly profitable. Possums avail themselves to the more natural and free contribution of their proteins every night on a road near you.

Well, being that I am from (Portland) Oregon, you really don't need a farm to raise your possum stock. All you really need to do is travel up and down any secondary road or highway with your high beams on and you'll have enough possums collected within a few hours. That way they are already pre-tenderized . Sometimes the older ones have a tendency to be a little tough. Plus the possum furs are a great commodity .

I just know you have got to be kidding. They're endangered and the only marsupials we have here in the US. They are actually pretty cute if you can get past the rat face of theirs. I have a few who visit me all the time for a handout.

Ohhh, I get it now. You're into the heavy petting zoo.

I'm not.
But, ...at least I understand the sheep questions now.
