good question, we all say we would hand it to the authorities but what if it did really happen , things might be different, i think i would hand it in, but if i knew it couldn't be traced back to me i might keep it

Not "keep" it - but find good ways to spend it...
The way I see it, unless it is obvious who the true owner is, I would feel a responsibility to make sure the money goes to something worth while.
I would NOT, however, feel comfortable with spending it selfishly... it may have belonged to a poor person!
I would hold on to it long enough to make sure that the true owner couldn't prove themselves...
You have to be tricky though - you can't just blurt out "Hey anybody missing $527.32?"

NO!! U dont know WHO that money could belong to! What if it was mob money & someone saw u take it?? Or what if it was part of a FBI sting or something??? theres something really suspicious about a random pile of money just lieing there for someone to take. i definitely would NOT keep it.

Keep it? No I would put it in a trust fund and let it build interest until and angel came down from heaven and led me to its rightful owners so I could give it back minus interest and handling fees of course since nothing is free.

No I wouldn't keep it or try to spend it. For all I know the money could have been stolen so spending it could get me in a lot of trouble.

I would keep 2 thirds, then split the rest between charity, and give the rest to the police

No I would be to worried to keep it, I don't think I would sleep at night in case anyone saw me take it.
