There used to be a Beth-El Hospital in New York; they changed the name to Brookdale.
There are three thousand people in the US named Bethel

There are 55 people in the United Kingdom named Bethel

(the statistics at the both of the above sites don't sound right to me, but, it's still fun to look up your own name)

Beth-EL or Bethel means house of god. In the Beth-El form it is used as the name of many Jewish congregations. I have never heard it used as a persons name.

You mostly find this name with people with Christian background and apparently Jewish. Beth-el is mentioned in the Old testament for sure. It means the house of God. I know a teenage called Beth-el whose parent's are followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox church.

Beth-el is a name given to a synagogue, or the members of that synagogue.
