What does it mean in the following sentence Can you tell qualitatively whether the induced magnetic force falls off with distance? explain

"qualitative" as opposed to "quantitative". What "qualitative" means is to do it without measuring (which would be "quantitative"), or measuring precisely.

So, is there a way to tell without measuring? Sure. Put a magnetic material near the magnet and notice that the force gets weaker as the material is moved farther away.

I believe it's asking if the magnetic force diminishes with distance and to what degree. In other words, at what rate or to what degree does it diminish?
