the other day my grandmother noticed my front tires seemed off so i had my dad check them and they were 18 in each front tire when they should be 30. he didn't check the back ones. it's a 2007 toyota yaris and a light never came on telling me to check it. also, i just had my car inspected about 2 weeks ago...isn't that something they check? what causes low tire pressue? i only have about 10,000 miles on my car. i know what i can do to fix it...but what can i do to prevent it? and what are the results if it's not fixed?

Put air in them. Cold air condense's, Warm air expands. Seasonal climates will cause low tire pressure in tires during the cold season.

It is recommended to check your air pressure once a month. Now, I would call the Dealership and tell them what happened and see if the can check your Tire Pressure Monitor System under warranty because your light should have warned you.

Go back to the dealership and have them test the tires for rim leaks. They should do it for free. Also, find out if there are any recalls on the tires that Toyota has chosen for this model. There should be a bulletin at the dealership. Also, you can have nitrogen put in your tires. The nitrogen molecules are bigger than atmospheric air and will not leak out as quickly.

Weather causes changes in tire pressure because the change in weither causes them to expand and contract. Just wear causes low tire pressure. That is why you are supposed to check your tire pressure every so often and add air if necessary. Unless, you have a screw or something in your tire. If it is all 4 tires you probably have nothing to worry about because I doubt you would have a screw in all 4 of your tires.

it is normal for air to permeate thru the tyre walls, they need checking for pressure every few weeks, more as needed. there is not normally any warning gauge or light in the car. it's a part of normal maintenance for any driver. Consequences:bad tyre wear, perhaps steering failures, blowout, high fuel use. very dangerous at any speed to run low tyre pressures-get own pencil type gauge to check-they're the most accurate, and service station ones tend to innacuracy. a few psi wrong is enough to be an increased risk-perhaps fatally in extremity-check when tyres COLD!

well many things affect your tires, ambient temperature, type of tire, age of tire, there are so many different things that will affect your tires. some people will let your air out to mess with you head a little bit. if it is hot today and cold tomorrow your air in your tires will be less,if you drive down the highway at say 65 mph then your air pressure will be greater. my advice is learn how to maintain your tires yourself and then you won't be wondering about it . you will know.

Weather changes can make the tires loose pressure. They expand when it is hot and contract when its cold, so you should keep an eye on them.

Or you could have a leak in the tire somewhere.

All tires lose a little air. Just fill them up, and check them every month.
