I wondered a similar question once when I saw a flat lizard on the road. Was it self aware? Did it know reason? Did it worship? Did it have a soul?

All I know is that if we do have souls then so do they; maybe the intensity of the life force(soul) maybe little less like in standby mode, but it the same thing.
Also I bet there might be creatures who might be doing uuughh!!!! on seeing us, and saying what pathetic low life humans are and wondering if humans have soul too..
But then as they say everything is relative....
Cheers

There is no scientific evidence that any living creature has a soul. Belief in the existance of a soul is based strictly on faith.

This religion/philosophy question got wrongly placed into the physics category. I don't see that it has anything to do with physics.
